Day 11

Message

THURSDAY, JANUARY 11th

Praying for the PASTORS/STAFF of Covenant Life Church in the New Year.

Ephesians 3:14-19 [NLT] “When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, 15 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. 16 I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”

THOUGHT for TODAY:

Pastoring and working in the church are one of the most rewarding callings that God can ask of an individual. It can also have many challenges. Pastors are called to lead and feed, guide and provide, protect and correct, as they shepherd a congregation. The individuals who work with them on staff also carry a type of “weight” that is in many ways like that of a Pastor. Paul calls apostles, prophets, evangelist, pastors, and teachers a “gift” to the Body of Christ, and their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do His work and build up the church. Thank you for pastors and a staff who will do the will of God.

Scripture

2 Timothy 4:2 [NLT] “Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.”

Acts 20:28 [VOICE] “Here are my instructions: diligently guard yourselves, and diligently guard the whole flock over which the Holy Spirit has given you oversight. Shepherd the church of God, this precious church which He made His own through the blood of His own Son.”

Hebrews 13:17 [MESS] “Be responsive to your pastoral leaders. Listen to their counsel. They are alert to the condition of your lives and work under the strict supervision of God. Contribute to the joy of their leadership, not its drudgery. Why would you want to make things harder for them?”

Prayer

Father, thank You for the pastors and staff of our church. Give them compassion and passion for people and Your church. May their work be full of joy and not drudgery. As they lead the church, give them wisdom from heaven and supernatural strength for guiding the church. May You continue to strengthen and bless them as they lead Covenant Life Church. I ask for Your strength and blessing in the name of Jesus, amen!

What to pray

  • Pray for Pastor Mark, Pastor Mike, and Stefani personally, for their marriages, and for their families.

  • Pray for angels to watch, guard, and keep them as well as their spouses and families.

  • Pray for spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional strength to lead the church.

  • Pray that the vision they carry within them will be realized and come to fruition in God’s timing.

  • Pray that the Lord will bring “armor bearers” around them to lighten the load of ministry.
