Message
MONDAY, JANUARY 29th
LOVING PEOPLE in the New year.
Matthew 22:36-40 [NLT] “Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?” 37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
THOUGHT for TODAY:
Covenant Life Church has a two-fold Mission Statement. The first part is to: LOVE GOD. The second part is equally important: LOVE PEOPLE. Our goal, every day, as a Christian, is to love God with all that we are and to love people as we love ourselves. Love is one of our most basic needs as humans. Everyone desires to be loved. God loving us first and then reciprocating that love back to Him gives us the capability to love people like God loves them…unconditionally. People want to be accepted, not rejected. People want to be included, not excluded. People want to be loved. God calls us, He commands us, to love people. May our hearts and our church be full of God’s love so that when people encounter us, they encounter the true love of God. LOVE PEOPLE!

Galatians 5:14 [PASS] “For all the Law can be summarized into one statement: Demonstrate love to your neighbor, even as you care for and love yourself.”
James 2:8 [GNT] “You will be doing the right thing if you obey the law of the Kingdom, which is found in the scripture, ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’”
1 John 3:23 [GWT] “This is His commandment: to believe in His Son, the one named Jesus Christ, and to love each other as He commanded us.”
Romans 13:8, 10 [TLB] “Pay all your debts except the debt of love for others-never finish paying that! For if you love them, you will be obeying all of God's laws, fulfilling all His requirements. 10 Love does no wrong to anyone. That's why it fully satisfies all of God's requirements. It is the only law you need.”
Prayer
Father, help me to love others. Forgive me for failing in this area. I want to see people the way You see people and I want to love people the way You love people. Open my heart to loving all people. I do not want to judge others from their outward appearance but love them with a true love that is coming from my heart, a heart changed by Your love for me. I will follow and obey the commandment of loving others like I love myself. I will show love to people. I pray that my actions, words, thoughts, mannerisms, facial expressions, all that I am exude the true love of God for people. I proclaim that I am a lover of all people. I ask for strength and blessing in the name of Jesus, amen!
What to pray

Pray and ask the Holy Spirit for an awareness to love people in actions and with your words.

Make a conscious effort to show God’s love to people.

Love people by doing for others what you would like to be done for you.

Express your love to people. Say the words, “I love you.”

Obey God’s holy commandment and love people as God has so loved you.
