Day 27

Message

SATURDAY, JANUARY 27TH

Praying for FINANCES in the New year.

2 Corinthians 9:6-11 [NLT] “Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. 7 You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don't give reluctantly or in response to pressure. ‘For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.’ 8 And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need, and plenty left over to share with others. 9 As the Scriptures say, ‘They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever.’  10 For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, He will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. 11 Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous.”

THOUGHT for TODAY:

Money is mentioned over 800 times in the Bible. Whether people will admit it or not, everyone is concerned about finances. In 2023, American’s placed not having adequate finances for their future as one of their “Top 10 Fears.” Fear is not from God. God cares about our finances because He cares about everything in our lives. Are we managing our finances according to Biblical principles? Do we save, pay our debts on time, and live beneath our means? Do we give offerings and bring the Lord’s tithe back to Him? Have we incurred debt that causes strain upon our life, marriage, and family? Do we go to bed restless because our finances are in disarray? God instructs us through His Word on how we can have financial freedom and prosperity. Pray for God’s guidance and read His Word for wisdom concerning your finances. Listen, obey, and see God’s provision multiply in your life.

Scripture

Proverbs 3:9-10 [PASS] “Glorify God with all your wealth, honoring Him with your firstfruits, with every increase that comes to you. Then every dimension of your life will overflow with blessings from an uncontainable source of inner joy!”

Malachi 3:10 [TEV] “Bring the full amount of your tithes to the Temple, so that there will be plenty of food there. Put Me to the test and you will see that I will open the windows of heaven and pour out on you in abundance all kinds of good things.”

Proverbs 11:24-25 [MESS] “The world of the generous gets larger and larger; the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller. 25 The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped.”

Prayer

Father, help me to be a good steward of the finances You have given me. May I be more mindful of what I spend, what I purchase, incurring debt, and making payments on time. I want to be a generous giver. My heart’s desire is to give on every occasion when I am prompted in my heart by Your Holy Spirit. I desire to be faithful and biblical in my giving. Forgive me of not following Biblical principles concerning my finances. From this day forward, I choose to be biblical in the handling of money and finances that You have blessed me with. I ask for strength and blessing in the name of Jesus, amen!

What to pray

  • Pray for wisdom concerning all transactions where your finances ae concerned.

  • Ask the Holy Spirit for His leadership and direction concerning constructing a plan to get out of debt, managing your finances biblically, and how to save for the future.

  • Pray for others who are financially literate to come into your life and help you in this area.

  • Declare over yourself that you will not be led by your flesh concerning finances but by God’s Word.
