SUNDAY, JANUARY 21st
Praying for ORPHANS in the New Year.
James 1:27 [AMP] “External religious worship [religion as it is expressed in outward acts] that is pure and unblemished in the sight of God the Father is this: to visit and help and care for the orphans and widows in their affliction and need, and to keep oneself unspotted and uncontaminated from the world.”
THOUGHT for TODAY:
It is unthinkable, but in today’s world, children (kids and teens) are trafficked, kidnapped, molested, physically and verbally abused. And with all of that, many are without mothers and fathers. The Bible says that “children are a blessing and a gift from the Lord.” [Psalm 127:3] God specifically speaks to us and says, “take care of the orphans.” Orphans, and those in Foster Care, do not have parents to watch over them. They have no covering and feel unsafe. They are often alone and on the streets. In our society the family unit is breaking down and many times children are the biggest casualty. We, the Church, can stand in that gap and make a difference one life at a time. God has called His Church to be a guard and to have overwatch for kids who are orphans and those in Foster Care.

Psalm 68:5 [GNT] “God, who lives in His sacred Temple, cares for orphans and protects widows.”
Psalm 10:14 [PASS] “The helpless, the orphans, commit themselves to You, and You have been their Helper.”
Psalm 146:9 [NLT] “The Lord protects the foreigners among us. He cares for the orphans and widows, but He frustrates the plans of the wicked.”
Prayer
Father, protect the orphan and children who are in Foster Care. I pray that Your angels are around them to watch, guard, and keep them. May your hand be upon their lives, leading, guiding, and providing for each one. Remove anyone who is in their life causing harm to them. Bring men and women who will “stand in the gap” where a mother and father are no longer present in their lives. Bring people into their lives that will champion the cause of orphans and those in Foster Care. May they feel and sense God and the love of God through the Church. Bring salvation and restoration to the orphans and those in the Foster Care System. I ask for Your strength and blessing in the name of Jesus, amen!
what to pray

Pray for the Church, the State of Texas, organizations, and ministries to work together concerning orphan care and bringing changes to the Foster Care System.

Pray for orphans and those in Foster Care to be adopted into a loving family that will help change the trajectory of their life.

Pray for the Church and Christ-centered Ministries concerning the kids that have no mom and dad to be saved and healed by the power God and the cross of Christ.

Pray for the kids to be set free from an “orphan spirit/mentality” that is detrimental to their psyche and to having and maintaining healthy relationships.

Pray for the Church to love and care for orphans and those in Foster Care.
