Praying for the NATION of ISRAEL in the New Year.
Psalm 122:6-7 [NLT] “Pray for peace in Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper. 7 O Jerusalem, may there be peace within your walls and prosperity in your palaces.”
THOUGHT for TODAY:
Jesus said in Matthew 6, “…when you pray.” It seems that praying, to Jesus, is to be the habitual action of a believer. In the Bible, the believer is both encouraged and commanded to pray. Jerusalem (Israel) is one such area to pray for. Today, the nation of Israel, is daily in the news. The war with Hamas has now been going on for over 100 days. In Zechariah 2, Jerusalem is called the “apple of God’s eye.” This is a term of endearment and to one who is given great care. As Christians, we do not base our decision to pray for Israel from a political point of view or even a personal point of view. We intercede for Israel because the Bible implores us to pray for Jerusalem. God even gives a promise, “May all who love this city prosper.” Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Genesis 12:1-3 [NIV] The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you. 2 I will make you into a great nation (Israel) and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you (Israel), and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you (Israel).”
Prayer
Father, I pray for the peace of Jerusalem. I pray for Israel to be protected from its enemies. May the war with Hamas cease and may lives be spared. I speak blessings over Israel. I pray for justice and righteousness to prevail in the lives of everyone who is involved in conflict with Israel. Lord, show Your mercy and favor. I pray that the enemy’s plans for Israel are unfulfilled and unable to come to pass. I pray for protection for the nation of Israel. I ask for Your strength and blessing in the name of Jesus, amen!

Pray for the leaders of Israel to be led by the Holy Spirit and not by their flesh.

Pray for satan’s influence to cease and desist over the nations who are enemies of Israel.

Pray for all the families and survivors of this war to experience God’s peace and strength in the midst of all the chaos and loss of life.

Ask God to expose all the evil plans against Israel and protect innocent lives.

Pray for people to be saved, healed, and rescued during this tumultuous period of time.
