Message

TUESDAY, JANUARY 16th

Praying for the NATIONS in the New Year.

Revelation 7:9-10 [NLT] “After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands. 10 And they were shouting with a mighty shout, ‘Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the Lamb!’”

THOUGHT for TODAY:

There are presently 195 nations in the world. It’s not just about how many nations are represented in heaven, it’s that all nations are represented in heaven. Jesus’ commandment when He went back to heaven was, “make disciples of all nations.” Nations…not just people. God loves and is concerned about every individual, but He loves and has His eye on every nation. Nations represent multitudes of people and multitudes will inhabit heaven. God establishes nations and their boundaries and God uses nations to accomplish His purposes. God’s people should not only pray for themselves, their families, and the nation they live in, but also pray for ALL the nations to know God as their Lord and Savior.

Scripture

Psalm 22:27-28 [ETRV] “May those in faraway countries remember the Lord and come back to Him. May those in distant lands worship Him, 28 because the Lord is the King. He rules all nations.”

Matthew 28:18-20 [NIV] Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Psalm 67:1-4 [NIV] “May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, Selah 2 that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. 3 May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you. 4 May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples justly and guide the nations of the earth.”

Prayer

Father, I lift up the nations of the world to You and pray that all nations will know You as their Lord, King, Savior, and God. May whole continents be changed, and hemispheres impacted because nations have decreed that Jesus Christ is Lord. I pray for nations to be saved, healed, and to be reflections of Your Kingdom. I pray that cities experience revival and miracles because leaders are turning their nation over to You. May we see in our lifetime the nations of this world becoming disciples of Jesus Christ. I ask for Your strength and blessing in the name of Jesus, amen!

What to pray

Call out the name of every nation and speak over them to be disciples of the Most High God.
Pray against satan’s influence over nations and their leaders. Pray for national salvation.
Ask God to direct your heart to pray for certain nations. Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading.
Pray in unity with God’s Word that He rules over every nation. [Psalm 22:28]
